AL001 - SOFT TOUCH WATERBASED VARNISH
DESCRIPTION
AL000 - Waterbased urethane dispersion varnish for soft feel, low gloss use, including labels and packaging. Excellent chemical resistance properties when mixed with: -
AL002 - Waterbased polyfunctional aziridine liquid crosslinker, which when mixed in additions of 1-3% with waterbased acrylic emulsions or urethane dispersions (AL000) produces a marked improvement in water, chemical, abrasion and humidity resistance, and enhances adhesion to specific substrates.
AL001 - Finished product when 97% AL000 is mixed with 3% AL002 press-side.
PROPERTIES
Low gloss, Excellent soft feel properties, Low viscosity, Very good chemical, alcohol and solvent resistance. Good adhesion
APPLICATION
Shake well before use. Film weight 6 g/m2 minimum. The higher the film weight, the better the soft feel effect. IR or forced air drying
SUBSTRATES
Coated paper and board. For polyester, PVC, foils etc test suitability before use.
STORAGE & HANDLING
Store at temperatures between 50C and 250C. Protect from sunlight. In unopened containers AL000 & AL002 have a shelf life of 12 months.

AL006 - WATERBASED FLEXO NON SLIP VARNISH BASE

AL006 - Waterbased urethane dispersion varnish for non slip, low gloss use, including labels and packaging. Excellent chemical resistance properties when mixed with: -

SCRATCH OFF INK
DESCRIPTION
To produce a game piece, where the ink is easily removed, the following three components should be very carefully, selected:
• Substrate
• Release Coating
• Scratch Off inks
SUBSTRATE
A nonporous material should be recommended for use. The use of a porous material will allow the release coating to penetrate the material and the scratch off ink will not be easy to remove. HGW paper (i.e. Castgloss from Raflatac) has shown to be "too porous" to use as substrate for a game piece.
Substrates, which have shown good results at the customer, are Invercoat Creato 200g, Enso Coat 160g, Krome Kote Brilliant, (PE), PP and Acetate.
It is also important that the material has good coverage otherwise the game or hidden information will be easily seen from the back side.
It is recommended to test different material before production run.
RELEASE COATING
You need the release coating to get the scratch off concept. Without using the release varnish the scratch off inks will not show good scratch off effect. W/B Release Coating SOP00090 gives the best result as a release coating for Scratch Off applications. UV-Flexo Coating UVF02051 (UVF00128) is available and recommended as well, but to achieve best effects it should be printed twice. SOP00090 printed once shows easier scratch off properties then UVF00128 printed twice.
It is extremely important that a thick, smooth layer is obtained with the Release Coating to make the Scratch Off inks easy to scratch off.
SCRATCH OFF INKS
• Black SOP80071:Gives the opacity and hides the game. In some applications it is recommended to print it twice to get good coverage of the game. SOP80071 is very easy to remove with a nail.
• Silver SOP00077 :Gives the silver effect and some coverage but not as much as the black. It is harder to scratch off compared to black so it does not rub off when handling or packaging etc; especially when it is printed on top of the black. The greater the film-weight of silver applied the harder it is to scratch the ink. Quite hard pressure is required to remove the ink with the nail. A coin is recommended.

IMPORTANT!
• Two versions of W/B Scratch Off inks are available Pliable and Standard. Pliable (SOP) shows best effect and recommended by us. SOP and SOO should not be printed together; the scratch off effect will decrease if they are printed together.
• It is very easy to scratch off the ink after 2-24 hours. Therefore the scratch off effect should be checked 24 hours after printing.
• The Scratch off silver is harder to scratch compared to the black, especially when it is printed on top of black. The ink lay down should be higher with black scratch off ink than the silver.
• Scratch off inks is not a stock item. A normal delivery time is around 4 weeks
