For label printers using rotary screen technology, Pulse Roll Label Products’ PureScreen range includes UV screen inks and varnishes suitable for printing on paper, unsupported polypropylene, and other synthetic label materials.
Our unique PureScreen ink system offers an innovative solution for narrow web printers using flexo and screen technology, and is based on using the same high strength, mono-pigmented ink technology as our PureTone ink system.
PureScreen inks are created by blending PureTone UV flexo inks with a specially formulated reducing medium, to allow the inks to be printed through a rotary or flat-bed screen. This offers all the advantages of PureTone in terms of clean and crisp colours for easy colour matching and also presents other benefits, such as ink inventory reduction, for printers using both UV flexo and UV screen printing technology.
A colour matching database, using X-Rite’s InkFormulation Software (IFS), has been created for the PureScreen ink system which, when combined with prepress proofing equipment, provides further cost savings through reduced downtime and less waste on press. The PureScreen reducing medium has also been formulated to contain raw materials that are food packaging compliant (FPC). This means a reduced risk of contamination on presses which use FPC inks, varnishes and coatings, thereby providing greater flexibility for the converter to move jobs from press to press.
Also included in the PureScreen portfolio is a high opacity opaque screen white, in addition to a silicone-free opaque white formulated for use as a first-down white for subsequent overprinting with flexographic and screen inks and varnishes.
A PureScreen matt and high gloss varnish, a braille varnish as well as a high build embossing varnish suitable for applications such as warning triangles for tactile and embossed effects are also available.
