It’s a sad truth that mental health can affect every single one of us.
No matter who you are, no-one is invulnerable. One in four people experience mental health challenges every year in England, and one in six reports struggling with conditions like anxiety or depression each week. Whether it’s caused by work, family, finances, or anything else, from time to time, we all can feel like we’re under strain, or like we need someone to talk to.
All industries, including the print sector, are experiencing challenging times right now. With the current uncertainty about the cost of living, people may be more worried than ever about their jobs, or how they’re going to pay their bills. Unfortunately, not all these people will get the help they need to manage their mental health and get back on the road to recovery.
At Pulse Roll Label Products, we hope that the only things under pressure are the substrates our inks are used on – but we know this isn’t always true. There is no easy solution to issues like mental wellbeing. However, we are committed to doing everything that we can to help any of our staff who need it.
That’s why this World Mental Health Day (10 October), we’re pleased to announce that Pulse Roll Label Products has signed up to the Printing Charity.
The Printing Charity provides practical, emotional, and financial support for people in the print sector. As well as offering grants for those in need and signposting people to support services, the charity operates a free helpline that is open 365 days a year. Its trained advisers and counsellors can provide support to anyone who feels they need a bit of help, or just a friendly voice to talk to.
As well as offering support, the Printing Charity helps to champion emerging talent through an Awards programme for rising stars in the print, paper, packaging, and publishing industries. This initiative offers funding to young rising stars in the sector to help them develop their professional skills.
To publicise our partnership, the team at Pulse Roll Label Products has shared internal communications with all our colleagues and is putting up flyers and posters around our buildings pointing them to the free and confidential Printing Charity helpline.
At Pulse Roll Label Products, we care about the health and wellbeing of all our people. By working with the Printing Charity, we hope that we will be able to help them access the care and support they need to get through whatever they are struggling with.
